Why wouldn't the Supreme Court see that acting according to God's Truth (interpreted thru the Constitution) is the best route for us all?Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13015309046831976609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6805190.post-13367411282069411672013-06-27T12:43:15.263-07:002013-06-27T12:43:15.263-07:00The Supreme Court does weigh-in on moral issues; b...The Supreme Court does weigh-in on moral issues; but we all have freedom to agree or disagree. Sometimes the penalty of protest could involve jail-time, but it is a right and option open to every American. So yes, contrary to your assertion, the Supreme Court does make decisions on morality. They write the community standard. The community is the USA.Bernie Dehlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03919318328504104290noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6805190.post-18383888669705658662013-06-26T10:01:51.238-07:002013-06-26T10:01:51.238-07:00In the opinion striking DOMA, Justice Kennedy writ...In the opinion striking DOMA, Justice Kennedy writes: The federal statute is invalid, for no legitimate purpose overcomes the purpose and effect to disparage and injure those whom the State, by its marriage laws, sought to protect in personhood and dignity. Whenever they thought it was important, they could simply create a new law and call it an “interpretation” of some part of the Constitution, and suddenly it would become the highest law of the land! In this way the Supreme Court justices discovered that they could become the most powerful rulers in the entire country.”

As a Christian, I would like to see honor and virtue be brought back into the Supreme Court role but of course I'm not so naive as to think it can happen without strong Christian influence and prayer.

This article makes it clear how Judges or Justices are not the authors of morality and we should call attention to this as the need arises.clayhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02129511543948272087noreply@blogger.com
